Signature Save the Dates
The save-the-date is an important paper piece, especially when planning a destination wedding. It gives your guests the opportunity to plan and learn the details of your upcoming wedding. I also advise couples that the save-the-date is an ideal vehicle if you want to do something fun and different.
Below are some different and unique ideas which your guests will adore:
He Popped the Question.
Send each guest a champagne cork wrapped with a small paper band with the copy “He popped the question.” Insert a small card with the various save-the-date details. Send in a small mailing box.

Pack Your Sack.
Take a small burlap bag and attach a tag to it which states “Pack your sack”. Inside the bag, insert a small card with the various details and send in a small mailing box or bag.

Vintage Movie Poster
Mimic the look of an old style movie poster such as Casablanca. Design your save-the-date around this concept using pictures of you with the look of a poster promotion. Focus on the verbiage of “Coming Soon,” as well as the who, what, when, and where. Your photographer may even be able to snap some photographs of you in a classic Marilyn Monroe dress.

Andy Warhol
Take pictures of the two of you and colorize them with an Andy Warhol pop-art look. This is great for a wedding with a vibrant color theme. Print the save-the-date details on the back of the design.

Timeline
Why not tell your guests about the two of you before the wedding. Put together a timeline of your years together and list momentous events such as vacations, first date, proposal, and so on. Design the piece around a typical timeline idea or feel free to get even more creative.

The key is to have fun and think outside of the box. One thing I have learned as a stationery designer is guests love to receive something different in the mail which expresses who you are.

I really love the vintage movie poster design. Retro graphic design is very much en vogue and there is so much great art from the ’50s and ’60s to draw inspiration from.
I really love those ideas, especially the one with champagne cork. It is originall and funny.
