Wedding invitations should be a statement of every couple’s personality, not only representing your wedding style but also your personal goals and aspirations. We love when couples truly make their invitations a personal work of art to represent exactly who they are.
Here are a few ideas about how you can add some personal, untraditional flair to your invitations:
Illustrations
What about using a personal illustration of the two of you? It can be used on the invitation itself or just on the reply/information card. You can also carry the illustration into other paper pieces such as favor tags, welcome letters, and programs.
A Map of You
If you have a custom map designed, you can outfit it with not only directional information, but also some details about your history as a couple. Consider incorporating spots like where you had your first date, the place you got engagement, or your favorite restaurant or pub. The map will be a functional piece but also tell a story of the two of you and give your guests a few places to visit and enjoy.
Custom Crest
Family crests are a wonderful way to give a snapshot representation of your family’s culture. Try creating a crest for your wedding with details that represent the two of you. It can feature your initials and graphics to represent personal hobbies, where you live, your interests and values, and so on. This is a unique way to create a monogram with more character.

As one who loves maps as it is, having a personal one sounds so great. I l would probably have it framed afterwards.
