Start by creating a text or graphics box which is 5” long by 1” high. Create a background for the flag by downloading a custom pattern, designing your own pattern or scanning a piece of patterned paper. Place the pattern inside or behind the 5” x 1” box. Next insert a smaller white text box atop the pattern which is approximately ¾” tall by 1 ¾” wide. Type your copy of choice inside the box.

Arrange as many of the flags that you can on an 8 ½” x 11” sized page. Print the flags on a paper of your choice – but be sure it is thin enough to fold easily. Cut out each 5” x 1” rectangle with a scissors or paper cutter. Fold the cut rectangle in half to create your flag. Each completed flag will measure 2 ½” x 1” in size. Insert a toothpick or small skewer stick along the fold of the flag and glue in place. Then glue the front and back sides of the flag together.

Your flag is now complete. You can leave the flag as is or embellish each one. You could embellish with a ribbon or a bead/pearl at the top of the flag.
